Mrs. Zaïna Kere-Kere released her book with the support of the Eric Impion Foundation

Mrs. Zaïna Kere-Kere, a Congolese journalist with fifteen years of experience, recently received technical and financial support from the Eric Impion Foundation for the writing and publication of her book "Elections in the DRC, seen by a journalist". The book launch event took place on March 29, 2022, at the Sultani Hotel in Kinshasa, and was attended by officials from the Independent National Electoral Commission (CENI), the Congo Press Union (UNPC), the Superior Audiovisual Council of Congo (CSAC), as well as numerous guests. Mrs. Cathy Impion, the gender affairs officer of the Eric Impion Foundation, highlighted the foundation's commitment to supporting Mrs. Kere-Kere in publishing this book, as part of their efforts to promote women's expertise in the Democratic Republic of Congo, a society traditionally dominated by men.

Zaïna Kere-Kere, an experienced journalist who has closely followed and coverred the electoral processes in the Democratic Republic of Congo, including the recent ones in Benin, provided her insights into the progress of democracy in Congo-Kinshasa. She also emphasized the crucial role of press and media in fostering peace and social cohesion in a country that has long suffered from war and instability. Despite the challenges faced by Congo-Kinshasa, Kere-Kere believes that there have been positive developments in the democratic process. She acknowledged the importance of media in promoting transparency, holding leaders accountable, and creating awareness among citizens. Kere-Kere's expertise and understanding of the situation highlight the significance of a free and responsible press in the pursuit of peace and stability in the Democratic Republic of Congo.

Zaïna Kere-Kere has an exceptional professional career that has taken her from the Agence France Presse (AFP) to the Agence Congolaise de Presse (ACP), and the Agence Presse Associé, from Radio France International (RFI) to Tropicana FM, from Numerica TV to Canal+, from TV5Monde to ARTE. She is currently a radio producer at Internews RDC. She is also a recipient of many international prizes.
